Breastfeeding support groups

Finding breastfeeding support and information. New moms need support and information when learning to breastfeed. The Association provides innovative counselling and support services to the community and health sector throughout Australia.


Sharp HealthCare is committed to helping you give your baby the best possible start in life. This support group is devised to help new parents and their babies learn from others about their successes and challenges with breastfeeding.

Your decision to breastfeed is good for you and your baby. UCHealth hosts free weekly breastfeeding support groups at facilities along the Front Range. This guide is best used as an introduction to the many interventions that have been developed to protect, promote, and support breastfeeding. Readers can review the program examples, resources, and references or contact the organizations involved for more information about specific interventions. Through a range of services, the Association supports and encourages women who wish to breastfeed their babies, and advocates to raise community awareness of the importance of breastfeeding and human milk to child and maternal health.


The purpose of this directory is to share current information regarding breastfeeding support groups in Alabama, so that mothers in need of assistance might be referred. Entries are listed alphabetically by city in Alabama.

These FREE support groups are staffed by certified lactation consultants and are designed for moms and breastfeeding (or breast milk feeding) babies from birth through the first year of life. We offer an open, supportive forum to talk about the challenges and joys of breastfeeding as well as an opportunity to weigh your baby. The mission of La Leche League USA is to help mothers to breastfeed through mother-to-mother support , encouragement, information, and education, and to promote a better understanding of breastfeeding as an important element in the healthy development of.


Our International Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLCs) provide expectant and new parents with compassionate guidance and education about breastfeeding and infant care. This breastfeeding support group is devised to help mothers and babies learn from a certified lactation nurse and other moms about their own successes and challenges with breastfeeding. While breastfeeding is natural, it can take a while to get the hang of it.
