The Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland (ARLGP) is a nonprofit, Maine animal shelter serving more than 0homeless and displaced animals annually. Your donation to our shelters helps provide nearly 5pets with essential care every year. We rely on the support of individual donors to help us rescue and provide shelter for these innocent animals. As a no-kill shelter with limited space, we must carefully balance how many cats we can accept while at the same time providing the best environment for the cats that are already in our care.

We are strictly a volunteer run organization and have no paid staff or board members.

All dogs receive basic training, and in some circumstances, professional training services. You will also find the adoption fees and what is included with the fee. To be qualified to adopt a puppy or dog from RPC you must agree to provide training and keep the animal under control at all times.
