Should students wear uniforms to school

Should students wear school uniforms? Traditionally favored by private and parochial institutions, school uniforms are being adopted by US public schools in increasing numbers. The school uniform and school clothes avoid discrimination between students that may involve the use of certain brands and clothing. According to the school uniforms debate, comparisons and distractions among students are avoided since the school uniform ends with competitiveness when dressing, avoiding social differences in dress and favoring the union between students so that they can focus on learning.


Schools without a school uniform policy still have rules on what type of clothing is and is not allowed in school.

There are usually rules regarding modesty issues, visible logos, offensive text on clothing , gang colors, and symbols. While in the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth, schools make it necessary for the students to wear uniforms , in the US, it has been restricted to private schools. Chosen by each school , school uniforms provide students with a school identity, strengthen school and individual spirit and pride — not unlike the way an athletic team uniform builds team identity, morale and self-esteem.


Instead of feeling alienated or disconnecte students enjoy the sense of belonging that school uniforms bring. A majority of students do not want to wear the uniforms , and as a result, behavioral problems around the school occur. School uniform acts as a band-aid to more significant issues.


There are those who believe that the uniform is meant to try and solve much more significant problems like bullying and school attendance. Educators and experts who support that school uniforms should be implemented argue that uniforms contribute positively to the behavior of students.

They believe that students feel more professional and feel like they belong to something when they wear school uniforms , encouraging them to behave accordingly as a result. Schools should definitely not add school uniforms to to their school. The kids are there to learn, not to dress up.


Generally, dress codes are much less restrictive than uniform policies. Sometimes, however, dress codes are nearly as strict, as in the case of a middle school in Napa, California. This particular school’s dress code required students to wear solid colors and banned images or logos on clothes. The National Center for Education Statistics reports that percent of primary schools in America require students to wear uniforms to school. These uniforms can include anything from slacks, dress shirts, ties and vests to polo shirts, khaki pants or skirts for girls.


When all students have to wear the same thing, none of them can brag about wearing the latest, most expensive fashions. No, students should not wear a school uniform. The definition of a uniform is clothing worn by students to identify themselves as a student from a particular school.


Other than that school uniform is quite hot for students to wear. Moreover student can save money by not keep buying uniform every year. Students should wear uniforms to school because it alleviates a lot of stress on both students and parents.


There is so much pressure on students to wear clothing that is in style and on parents to provide the expensive in clothing. This hot debate has been going on for years.

While some schools have decided to make uniforms compulsory, some have given the students the liberty to dress as per their liking. One argument for students being required to wear school uniforms is that the requirement can increase student safety and deter crime. A two-year study in Long Beach, CA found in a two-year study that in schools for ages kindergarten to eighth grade, student uniforms helped to bring down the rates of a large number of crimes. In the United States, most public schools do not require students to wear uniforms. However, students are required to wear uniform in private schools.


While in most of the countries, either in a public or private school , required to wear uniforms. They even have summer and winter uniforms according to the weather. Uniform culture at school can help at-risk student to overcome their stress and feeling of loneliness. Wearing a uniform is a badge of pride, creates an identity for a school and is an important part of being a school student. Uniforms show that you are part of an organisation.


Wearing it says we’re all in this together,” Jason Wing, head teacher at the Neale-Wade academy in Cambridgeshire, says.
