The film manipulates shamelessly an despite defying logic with its contrivances and unconvincing character portrayals, will succeed in getting many audience members to the point where tears are inevitable.

Anyway, yes, the film’s title refers to the “seven pounds” of flesh that Ben gives to make up for killing seven innocent people. In this film there are many forms of symbolism present, but the three most significant are the idea of the duality of life and death, the idea of Ben literally engineering his life and death, and the idea that this film is full of themes similar to that of the play The Merchant of Venice. The purpose is not to wholly provide the to the questions but rather to provoke thought about significant ethical issues that affect everyday living. Was the movie seven pounds based on a true story ? I recently watched the movie seven pounds and i was wondering if it was based on a true story and if so was the suicide part true?
