I have now been on my period for the past month, like a little bit of bleeding every day. I got the implanon birth control about months ago and the first month i didnt bleed at all and then all of a sudden now ive been bleeding for the past months, I called my doc and they said its not worrisome just curious if anyone else has had the problem and if it will subside?

What your going through is normal and nothing to worry about since you are to expect bleeding at any time. For some unfortunate women who have the implanon they can start bleeding straight after having it put in or the week after and be bleeding from weeks to months during the first year. Adverse effects of hormonal contraceptives usually diminish with continued use of the same method.


Often, physi- cians only need to reassure patients that these symptoms will likely resolve within.
